The Frank Loesser songs from the film Hans Christian Andersen, as sung by Danny Kaye became very popular around the time I lived in upstate New York during the mid-sixties. We performed many of these in the Chorus at Victor Central School. Around this time, Charles Schultz's Peanuts characters ventured onto the television screen, escorted by the enchanting musical works by Vince Guaraldi. It seemed a natural fit to pair Inch Worm with Christmas Time is Here, as it seems to me that the holiday season is often the only time when many of us stop and see how beautiful things really are.
These selections take me back to a time when worries were few, the future was bright, and music directed many of the choices I would make for years to come. I hope you enjoy.
